Veterans Committee

“So long as there are Veterans, the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks will never forget them.”
Supporting our local Veterans is an important part of being an Elk. We are committed to recognize and support all Veterans but we our main focus is on those who are suffering from homelessness, food hardship and those in our local Veterans Homes and Hospital. The Veterans Committee meets the second Wednesday of each month at 6:30pm downstairs. All Members in good standing are encouraged to attend.

We work with the Servant Center in Greensboro to help the veterans move into their own homes. We provide Welcome Home Kits which include all the necessary items to set up their new homes. We are committed to these Veterans to help stop homelessness.
We are involved with the Adopt-A-Vet program and have placed a Vet in the Hero Center in the area.
We work with the new VA Nursing Home in Kernersville, NC.
The list goes on and hopefully will with continued effort from our volunteers and members but we would love more help so please get involved! Thanks to everyone who has supported these events in the past and continue to do so. Hopefully we can get more members and their families involved the remainder of this year. The moments and memories are long lasting, I can tell you. To learn more about how you can help on a national level go to: www.elks.org/vets
